Audiobook fanatics and an Iphone

If you’re an audiobook fanatic, I don’t have to tell you how useful they are. They can lull you to sleep, distract you pleasantly while you work out, and keep you from losing your mind on long car and plane trips.

Just a quickie for those of you with shiny new Iphones there is a problem when reading audio books ref the Shuffle and Repeat modes. This is covered in this blog post.

Audio Books: The Alchemist

I have been getting more into the idea of fiction audiobooks lately. I’d listened to a couple before, on long car trips at night, but wasn’t really “hooked” or anything. Recently, though, I found the Achemist

.Well, I couldn’t let that go without a try. I listened to it and then purchased 3 more from my own site, how sad is that – mainly in the evenings while lying down with my cat and at the gym when doing the light exercises.

It’s really convenient and entertaining, and I’m loving it! I’m not sure to what I’ll listen next, now that I’ve finished these ones but you need a good narrator and a well crafted story.

You know, it’s a new concept for me, this integrated realm of books and radio and television, where they exist beside each other without one being “the cheap version” of the other. For example in radio plays, books, movies, and the TV series, and they’re all accepted, apparently. Who knew? This wasn’t part of my upbringing; I’m only discovering the tip of the iceberg now, and it’s baffling but wonderful. The good part about being late to the fiction party is that there’s plenty to catch up on! I have been reading factual, learning audiobooks for some time.

Audiobooks For A Long Journey: E-Myth Revisited

As a carry on from the last post, ref the E-myth revisited being read  or more accurately listened too on my iphone, I must recommend this title.

The best thing about my job is that I work for myself and can make my own rules, well as long as the bank agrees with them.  As I do a lot of driving I can listen to audiobooks all day long. So I’ve been collecting audiobooks for several years but the best business title I have read lately is The E-Myth Revisited by M Gerber

This is a must read E-book for any business onwer and is very well narrated. The sign of a great audiobook is you do not want to get out of the car after a journey till your book is finished. Well if you are interested in business and self help read the E myth revisited by M Gerber this book is truly inspirational. I suggest you go get a copy and go for a very long drive and see if you are the same person after the spoken word presentation as before!!

The Author also narrates and his passion for the subject shows, a great listen

This book continues to inspire me and seems to hit all the correct buttons I am now half way through the book and already have plans for my businesses ref the importance of setting them up the correct way. Simply inspiring and a must read for any business owner especially if you are just starting out. Get things right from the start and avoid all the heartache later on!!

I actually am delaying getting out of my car on journeys while I listen to this book how sad!!

Hello and welcome to our new blog, finally after many years as a committed bibliophile  I am running a website devoted to audiobooks. As is important for any enthusiast theses are all very high quality recordings at all prices from free upwards. The main purpose of the site is to educate and inform and all the titles are all available to browse and download immediately at  Hear Now Audio Books. Now that is my elevator pitch so onwards to all things involved in the world of audiobooks

We often get asked about Storage on Mp3 players and iPods etc regarding audiobooks

A friend has an iPod Nano (4GB) and LOVES IT! Currently they have @ 15 books on it that average 9 CDs each and it takes up 2.5 GB. I personally use the Sony NW Mp3 player really cool looking but the software SonicStage is very awkward to use. However I got mine for $175 and it has 20GB storage, much better value than any iPod

So look around before you purchase but anything above 1Gb should be ok to get started. After all you can only listen to one book at a time

The very interestign times we live in mean that many ipods and mp3 players are becoming very cheap. I hope to review some of my favourites shortly

I have just purchased a IPhone and like any new father I am in love, what a wonderful gadget and great for reading audio books.
